The Alabaster Box Concert: This is an inter-denominational gospel music concert, commissioned by God, for the glorification of his name through sincere worship.
Alabaster box historically was a symbol of Purity
and Great Honour, which means our true worship
Alabaster
box was very expensive in bible times, and if a person bought an alabaster box,
it was only used for very special purposes. So the disciples considered
it was a waste when the woman poured the perfume on Jesus head but what was considered
waste was Rewarding. Mathew 26:13
The
woman with the Alabaster Box was able to see the opportunity in Christ
Jesus. The need for something to prepare Christ for His Burial
The alabaster Box is linked to the image of the
Grail, it is the receiving vessel, into which the Holy Spirit pours and the
individual can be transformed. Here it is filled with ointment. The woman
is not just washing Christ but anointing him. And remember that the word
Christ means the Anointed One.
The
act of pouring the very expensive Alabaster perfume, the kneeling at the feet
of Jesus and the wiping of his feet with her hair while in tears portrays
submission, brokenness and humility.
